Preparation of final physical prints Do check that your prints, mounts and frames are of good quality as prints which do not meet LIP’s quality standards will not be hung. Think: would your final framed//mounted print be suitable for sale in a smart gallery? Ensure your work is sized correctly, a maximum of 75cm wide and 95cm high including any frame or mounted on board (eg Foamex, MDF, Aluminium).
Espacio Gallery has a specific hanging method which must be followed for all work to be hung. They need D-rings or similar on the back to fit on hooks which slide on wires hanging from the ceiling. The maximum weight of each work for the hanging system is 7kg. If mounting your work on PVC board (eg Foamex, MDF, Aluminium) then it is compulsory to have a batten firmly attached on the back with 2 D-rings for hanging. A second batten at the bottom will improve its ‘hang’ on the wall. Please make sure the space between the ring and the top edge of the work is about 7cm. If you are using frames, it is also mandatory to attach 2 D-rings onto the back of each work frame, placed about 7cm from the top edge of the frame. Glass in frames makes them more difficult to handle and impedes viewing of your work, so please remove glass from frames if possible. If you do not follow these rules correctly, it will be impossible to hang and exhibit your work. We do not take any responsibility if you fail to meet these rules. Please do not write your name on the front of the print or mount.
